A Powerful Prayer on God’s Grace

God’s grace is His unearned, unending, unstoppable favor at work in your life—His benevolence that is more than sufficient. It lifts, restores, strengthens, and empowers believers in ways their own effort never could. When we feel weak, grace carries us; when we fall short, it covers us; and when we are overwhelmed by life, it sustains us. Grace is the mighty hand of God at work on our behalf. This prayer is written to beckon you to lean into that grace, receive it with faith, and walk in the fullness of it.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the immeasurable riches of Your grace that redeems and restores. As Your Word declares, “In whom we have our redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7) By Your grace I stand justified, clothed in righteousness, and made an heir of eternal life. For it is written, “That, being justified by His grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:7) Keep me under the covering of grace until I see You in eternity. The Bible says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace.” (Romans 6:14)

Most High, I come boldly before Your throne to receive mercy and help for every need. For the Bible says, “Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help us in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) May this grace empower me to walk uprightly, to deny ungodliness, and to pursue my purpose with godly focus and righteous motives. For it is written, “For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world.” (Titus 2:11–12)

Lord, where I am weak, let Your grace be my strength, that I may abound in good works that glorify You. Your Word says, “And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8) Teach me to rest in the sufficiency of Your grace, for the Bible says, “And He hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Father, let Your grace uphold me, open new doors, and release the blessings prepared for me. For it is written, “For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11) Help me to live humbly, joyfully, and with integrity, that my life may testify to Your undeserved grace. It is written, “But He giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) May Your grace shape my destiny, transform my journey, and produce undeniable fruits of righteousness to the glory of Your name. The Bible says, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:10), in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Closing Reflection

Praying for grace should bring us into the awareness that this is a gift beyond human ability and performance. Let us run to God for grace; however, let us not take it for granted. Therefore, grace must not be misused, as Apostle Paul said: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” (Romans 6:1). And may His grace that surpasses understanding be sufficient for you now and always, in Jesus’ name.

If you do not have a relationship with God, and you desire to—and the Holy Spirit has convicted your heart of God’s truth and love—begin with the confession below.

God, I confess that I am a sinner, and I have fallen short of Your glory. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ died and rose again for my sins. Therefore, I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Let Him be my Lord henceforth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
