As this year comes to an end, this prayer expresses sincere thankfulness to God for life, breath, and His help through every moment of the year. It acknowledges His faithfulness in both joy and difficulty, His unchanging nature, and the hope He gives to those who trust in Him. It is a moment to thank Him for His goodness, extend forgiveness, and place the coming year into His hands with confidence in His Word.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, as I near the end of 2025, I come to You with a heart full of gratitude for the gift of life. The Bible says, “Let everything that hath breath praise Jehovah. Praise ye Jehovah.” (Psalms 150:6). Thank You, Lord, for sustaining me and my loved ones throughout this year. I am full of hope because “For to him that is joined with all the living there is hope; for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” (Ecclesiastes 9:4).
Father, I am grateful for the good times and for the joy You gave me in the hard times of this year. I thank You for being by my side through them all. I rejoice and praise because it is written, “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Lord, I thank You for the mighty things You are able to do in my life, even in the remaining days of the year. It is written that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, yea and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

I forgive everyone who might have hurt me through the year. Help me, Lord, to reconcile any broken relationships where necessary, for You said, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” (Matthew 5:23-24).

I ask that You, in accordance with Your Word, crown the year with favor and goodness, for it is written, “Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; And thy paths drop fatness.” (Psalm 65:11). May Your blessings overflow into every area of my life as I look ahead with hope because You said, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.” (Jeremiah 29:11).
I commit my vision for the new year into Your hands, for the Bible says, “Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.” (Psalms 37:5). Help me walk in the path You’ve set for me as I prepare for the coming year.
Help me also to walk in kindness and generosity, and give me the boldness to tell others about Your love as you commanded, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Step into the new year with peace, confidence, and a renewed awareness of His presence in every part of your journey.
If you do not have a relationship with God, and you desire to—and the Holy Spirit has convicted your heart of God’s truth and love—begin with the confession below.
God, I confess that I am a sinner, and I have fallen short of Your glory. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ died and rose again for my sins. Therefore, I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Let Him be my Lord henceforth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
